What will happen to my cousin?

He was arrested 2 days ago for theft under $5,000 and for carrying a concealed weapon (knife) but the police found out he was a member of the bloods but did not charge him for gang affiliation just theft and carrying a weapon (knife). will the police mention to the judge that he is gang affiliated and what will the judge say for his punishment he is a first time offender what do you guys think will happen to him???
