What is a good Spanish speaker to research?

I mean who would be a interesting Spanish speaker to research? Like not Cesear Chavez, but someone that I wouldn't know to much about. When I say Spanish speaker, I mean some one who speaks Spanish, like in the U.S., in Spain, in South America, any where as long as the person speaks Spanish.
