When Politicians are asked about Gay Marriage, are any of them providing their honest opinions?

It's all political. I think that almost every elected official in Washington, D.C. knows that it's an injustice to deny gay people the same rights as straight people. Currently, America is full of bigots, so if one openly supports gay marriage (which every politican knows is the American thing to do) it hurts them politically. Deep down inside, most politicians are innately aware of the injustice of denying gay people the same rights. Would you guys agree?
