Calming Relaxing Teen Retreat?
To be zen and relaxing, you need to seriously de-clutter so your mind is not on all the stuff you see in the room. Whether it is in a closed cabinet, drawers, closet, or baskets/boxes under the bed - remove almost everything and leave out only a few basic items. Like on the bed side table - only a lamp and a vase with a single flower. On the bed - one or two colors - simple - and MAYBE one simple calming print pillow. I'd use a black platform bed with white linens and a pale green or blue comforter. The patio door should also be covered with some filmy green/blue sheers. Maybe a large bamboo pole for the curtain rod. The white walls are ok - use only a few simple pieces of art. For instance six or nine simple black and white prints framed with white mats and the same black frames. Displayed in a measured grid on one wall. On another wall - three pieces that "go together" but are not the same. Like one large but simple zen-feeling collage with a few colors including your main bed color, and two smaller items with similar images.
