Allergy testing for 2 yr old?

Ok, so my son broke out in these aweful hives that covered his whole body around Thanksgiving last year (he was 17 months at the time), I think from playing in leaves. For about 5 or 6 weeks he has had nasal allergy problems, so his pediatrician put him on Allegra. About three weeks ago he got tubes put in his ears, and the Ear Nose and Throat doc recommended allergy testing, even at his young age. When I asked my son't pediatrician about it, he basically said that it would do no good and told us to wait til he is older. Yesterday, I got a call from my son's daycare telling me that he had hives all over his face and around his mouth after eating strawberry banana yogurt (presumably with chunks of strawberries in it). I called the pediatrician today to ask again about allergy testing, because I am afraid of a more severe reaction, especially since we really don't know what's causing this. The pediatrician again said no testing! Has anyone else had testing on their toddler under 2?
